Managers can launch surveys on any of their subordinates. Managers can access their empoyee's goals and view 360 survey and appraisal results. They do not have to have any special privileges assigned. They are able to do so just by simple virtue of them being assigned as a manager to an employee.
Secondary managers get access to all their employees' data and have similar privileges to regular managers. For example, secondary managers can access their employee's goals and view 360 survey and appraisal results. You can
add a secondary manager to a user while creating their user account or by editing it.
The regular manager and the secondary manager do not get the same functionality. There are a few aspects where they differ, for example:
- Secondary managers are not notified in certain situations like regular managers are (they are not notified when instant feedback notes are added or when an employee completes an appraisal).
- Secondary managers do not complete employee appraisals. Appraisals are only completed by one person, and that's typically the default manager.
